Murad Ali (Sarangi)
Born in a family of musicians originally from Moradabad, Murad Ali is a sixth generation sarangi player. The intensive training he had under his grandfather Ustad Siddique Ahmad Khan and father Ustad Ghulam Sabir Khan has stood him in good stead, and he is presently regarded as one of the leading sarangi players of this generation.
Beginning his performing career at the early age of ten, Murad Ali won the first prize in the All India Radio national music competition held in 1992. An ‘A’ grade artiste of the All India Radio, he has also been a frequent performer at several music festivals in India and abroad. He has received accolades for his accompaniment to many noted vocalists and tabla players. Unfettered by orthodox musical beliefs, Murad Ali has on several occasions participated in cross-cultural and experimental musical endeavours. He had honor and privledge of playing sarangi for “ Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar ji”And got Pt. Ravi Shankar ji’s Blessings.
Murad ali has composed music for his own band called SOUL- SAMVAAD and has also recorded sarangi music for bollywood & hollywood films.
Murad Ali has received many awards including “SARANGI RATNA AWARD” from Ustad Ashique Ali Khan Memorial Society Delhi, “USTAD BISMILLAH KHAN” YUVA PURASKAR from Sangeet Natak Acadamy and “ SANSKRITI AWARD” from Sanskriti Pratishthan New Delhi , by Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad ( Former President of India)
Fateh Ali (Sitar)
Fateh ali belongs to the sixth generation of a family of musicians of Moradabad gharana. He was initiated into sitar by the great sitar maestro Shri “Satish kumar ji” who belongs to Dharwar. He then took sitar training under the late “Ustad Shamshuddin Faridi Desai” who was the great maestro and eminent performer of “sitar & been”.
He has sincerely attempted to infuse interest and respect for all music and Indian classical music in the younger generation. A charismatic performer, he can easily mesmerize the audience with his innovative sitar skills and dexterity.
His first Sitar Solo album “TASIR SITAR” has been released by “UNDERSCORE RECORDS” . Fateh has been recording various contemporary and Indian Classical music albums with international musicians – Jazz Album with “The Indian Core” from Norway, World Music album “CONVERGENCE” and his new Indian Classical Music Album “Classical Rendezvous” among others.
Fateh has performed in Major Music Festivals in India & abroad.
Deborshee Bhattacharjee (Vocal)
Deborshee Bhattacharjee was born in a musical family and was introduced to music at the age of 5 by his mother and first guru, Smt. Reena Bhattacharjee. He has been undergoing training and performs with the universally acclaimed musician and maestro Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty.
He is currently a senior A Graded scholar of ITC Sangeet Research Academy and a regular performer on All India Radio and television.
He has received many awards including the Late Sitaram & Malti Dixit Classical Award from Gaanwardhan Institute,Pune, Sangeet Ashram award (organized by Pt. Vijay Kitchlu) and the prestigious National Scholarship from the Government of India,Ministry of Culture in the field of Hindusthani Vocal Classical Music.
Deborshee has performed in several musical concerts across the globe.
He is equally comfortable in performing other genres of music like Bhajans, Quawali, Sufi, Tappa, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Bengali and Hindi modern songs etc.
